Demolition of no. 1 Fort St, Douglas
Date(s): 1932-1934
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Demolition of No. 1 Fort Street 'The Old Fort', erroneously so styled. There is little doubt however that it was an appanage [?] of the Douglas Fort on the rocks nearby and more than likely the 'Great Sellar in the Town' -1694 (c ). A tiny town thing of humble fisherfolks dwellings'. Additional note: 'Rear of Parade St. houses'.
