Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'No.20 New Bond St. on left. Men digging away the bank of soil some 30" high in what was the yard (semi-garden) of 19 N. Bond St., grass grown with ivy on the wall of the house at lower end (S) of Almshouse Lane. This & the upside (W) don't seem to have possessed any apparent backyard, or if they did, a few square feet at most. The Atholl arms slab on E. gable of the old Grammar School. Perhaps the arms of Alderman Dickson (or Dixon) of Dublin donor of the sites'.
