Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Corner houses, Fort St. & St. B. Sq. Entry 'down' as far as gable of H.B. Quirk's old house. Mr 'Joe' Sharp, the Coal Factor (Sharpe & Waid) lived here for many years, & this was the only house - a large one - on the corner. Door in S. B. Sq. entrance. Wall seen is the joint gable of Sharpe's and H. B. Quirk's house 90 years back, the roof of which is shewn being ripped off'.
