The old 'lookout' on Mrs Powell's house, Fort Street, Douglas
Date(s): n.d. [1932-1934]
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'The 'look-out' on summit of roof of the old Look-out House, Fort St, whence a view of shipping entering the port was had, at the time the tide washed the Fort St. Backs. Another film & print - better perhaps, plates see D17. Mrs Powell's. She invited me to call and inspect the top storey arrangement with ladder up to the look- out dormer. Someday, when she has finished with visitors, & the pallets in my wind chest (organ language) are working more normally than now, I should like to tackle it. This would involve a climb of about seven flights of stairs. Fine halls in this & Roney's next door'.
