A wet June Thursday in Douglas town
Date(s): n.d. [1932-1934]
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'A wet June Thursdsay afternoon in town. To get in better conditions & from a different angle if possible, which is doubtful - for the huge dormer on Powell's roof. This was the old look-out for shipping coming into the bay over a century ago when the shore was just behind the Fort St. houses across the road. And on the yard wall of one of these, behind the Salisbury, there is still a bulnose, but of a very rudimentary type. 25.6.32 Mrs Powell told me that the house in earlier days was known as The Look-out. The dormer is above the attics with steps leading up to it. Roney's is next door'.
