Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'The Fairy Ground from E. To W. large house centre, the old 'Bull's Head Inn' with protruding cellar. Next beyond, the 'Ship Inn' with its quaint high-pitched roof & main entrance on the Quay. In both of these, & the Coffee Palace beyond, underground means of intercommunication were noticed, of certain use in the smuggling days'.
