Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Circus in Bath Place - see Arthur Q Moore's 'Herald' articles for date (Cuttings file) Central Hotel built, so after 1890. Dates to verify. Keig's p[hoto] of Castle Tap is dated 1887. Pier angle has been filled in, and (filling in completed in 1896 - Mr W .....) Arcade on added space in course of erection. Both Old Pier Inn and Steam Packet Vaults just demolished. No swing bridge'.
