Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Period ( commencement evidently? see below) of the hobble skirt. One only exponent in view. Later than 1913 when Villa was opened. This must be a elated specimen of the hobble skirt - December 20th 1931 a speaker on the wireless gave the date of the hobble skirt as 1910. Still the speaker was a man: and so, independable, possibly'.
