The 'Rose Ann', North Quay, Douglas
Date(s): n.d.
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Own plate about 1897 or 8 - just prior to demolition. Rose Ann - Knox's boat. At the Tongue, crew of three retired one night to their bunks in the fo'castle and were all found dead in the morning. Carbon monoxide poisoning from the stove. The picture was taken by me prior to that tragic happening, because the combination of the vessel, the half timbered Hotel [British] and the old Church [St Matthew's] made a fine ensemble to my mind. Finer and larger print in Docket VII'.
