Inner Harbour facing North Quay, Douglas
Date(s): 1899
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Own plate, 1899. Saddle Inn, with swinging sign. That in Keig's series is impossible. In 1932 in the snapshot round-up of most of the interesting old bits in the town, and practically all of the demolition area between Duke Street and Parade Street, I got some fairly good pictures and a host of others less good, but effective reminders of what each street looked like. Where is there a picture of old Lord Street (of the eighties) of Gelling's Court off James Street (there was another off King Street or John Street) the Cattle Market, and many another, today. No one was sufficiently interested. Env IV, 24'.
