Former Manx Grand Prix ride,Harold Rowell completed 24 hours circuiting of the T.T. Course on a 175 c.c. Series 2 Lambretta covering a distance of 1,023.5 miles without a relief driver and stopping only for fuel and food, and became the first man, riding solo, to cover L000 miles of the T.T. Course on a scooter.
Rowell maintained an average of 42.5 m.p.h. throughout the 24-hour run.
