Administration / Biographical History: Ronald Bruce graduated in chemistry, later turning to marine biology which he taught at the Port Erin Biological Station from 1921 to 1960, latterly as Deputy Director. Whilst on the Island he also published research on Manx archaeology and was a Trustee of the Manx Museum and National Trust for many years, serving as Vice-Chairman from 1962 to 1976. He died on 27 July 1986 at the age of 91.
