Scope & Content: The 27 page story, described by the author as 'An old Manx-Gaelic Legend re-told in English', was selected to represent the folk tales of Great Britain in a book published by the United Nations Women's Guild, edited by Kathleen Read of Mineola, New York, proceeds of which went towards the 'Save the Children' Fund. The Woman's Sphere column in Isle of Man Times, 27 December 1952, page 3 carried news of this development.

Administration / Biographical History: The addressee, Mrs Monica Mudie was the founder of the Manx Ballet Club on the Isle of Man; she later married Lord Cofield.
