Scope & Content: Contents comprise a heavily illustrated scrapbook kept by Mona Payne, later Jackson, diaries of Elsie Payne (mother of Mona) for years 1939 and 1947, the diary of Mona Payne for 1946 recording her daily farm work and chores at The Rhennie; milk yield of named cows and sales book with record of eggs laid, 1943-1945; loose leaf assorted papers in folder; and background briefing notes by Catherine Jackson (daughter of Mona) regarding contents of deposit.
Mona's scrapbook documents ownership and her dairy farming of The Rhennie with intacks of Moaney Quilleagh and Phil Caley's lands, Maughold 1939-1961 (and off island farms of Hazelgrove Farm, Yealand Redmayne, N. Lancs 1961-1979 and Tyre Farm, Mickletrafford, Cheshire pre 1938. The scrap album was given to her by her mother on the occasion of her 5th wedding anniversary on 13 November 1952. Elsie Payne records the move to the Island in April 1939 and the outbreak of war;

Administration / Biographical History: Mona Jackson's ancestor Thomas Payne rented Tyre farm, Cheshire and married a Manxwoman. His son , also Tom, bought Tyre farm and later lived at a Corony bungalow (acquired within 24 hours); his son Tom Payne was Mona's grandfather. When acquiring the Rhennie, Elsie Payne gave her half of the farm; her grandfather made Mona buy the other half in 1946. The farm's name was used for naming the dairy cows, for instance 'Tyrhennie Margaret'.
