Scope & Content: By the gate with dark hair is Ronnie Kinrade of Glascoe Farm. John Watterson of Scarlett Farm stands behind the gate, with curly hair and no hat, to the left of the white-haired gentleman with arms crossed. Sitting on the left in front of the light is John McKnight, butcher of James Street, Douglas. Clyde Quine and his brothers Clarence and Charles are in the group. Sixth from the left is Ned Christian who farmed at Ronague. Kenyon Crowe is on the second row back behind the man who is fifth from the right in cap.Young Peter Dale is sitting at the back at the end of the row, right of picture. Henry Quayle middle right is standing in the shaft of sunlight. Next but one to the right of Ronnie Kinrade is William Christian, Captain of the Parish of Bride. Between Ronnie Kinrade and Willie Christian is Ab Gelling (Ronnie's father in law). My father bought a border collie pup off Ronnie Kinrade around 1970 which he delivered on the ferry and we brought him to Dublin Zoo for the day before returning him to the port for the return journey that evening. An absolute gentleman. I wonder is he still alive. - Spencer Hawkins Report this
