Scope & Content: Since 1955 the Southern 100 Road Races have been held annually each July in Castletown, on a closed roads circuit, the Billown Course. The Southern 100 is so called because the feature race was held over 24 laps of the 4.25 mile course, a race distance of 100 miles.
In 1968 the 12 lap Sidecar race was won by K. Allen on a Morris outfit. The winning race time was 41:42.04 at an average speed of 73.37mph. The team also won the Best Newcomers award.
