Scope & Content: 'Manx Electric Railway to Ramsey Reopening
Well, it certainly will be a red letter day in Ramsey and the North on Saturday next June 25 when there are to be celebrations to mark the reopening of the Manx Electric Railway between Laxey and Ramsey.
The loss to the town through closure by the Government for a year was unquestioned so it is not surprising that the Chamber of Trade in Ramsey have decided to have a “day of rejoicing” and to repeat the highly successful street fair which took place at the end of Jubilee Week...
Royal Ramsey will certainly be giving a right royal welcome to the first trams on Saturday afternoon. The Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Paul, with members of the Manx Legislature and VIP’s will be on the first tram which is due to arrive in Ramsey at 3:30pm.'
