'Immigration and identity on the Isle of Man'

Scope & Content: Illustrated BA dissertation submitted to School of Geography, St Hugh's College, Oxford University. The author attempts to fill the gap of the shortage of quantitative data regarding differences in attitude to identity among local and incomer groups; also the effect of immigration on cultural and national identity. The dissertation concludes that the there is a an impact from migrants (demographic, economic, social and attitudinal). Kinship, community and persistence of place are identified as some of the factors marking Manx identity.
