Dy hirveish Jee dy jeean,
Shoh’n raaue ta currit dou,
Dy gheddyn aarloo m’annym beayn,
Dy chiartagh’ ee son niau.

A charge to keep I have,
a God to glorify,
a never-dying soul to save,
and fit it for the sky.

2.
Dy yannoo mie dagh oor,
Myr ta mee gaase ayns eash:
O lhig da goaill seose slane my phooar
My Vainshter dy hirveish.

To serve the present age,
my calling to fulfill,
O may it all my pow'rs engage
to do my Master's will!

Freill mee dy kinjagh mayrt,
Leeid mee ‘sy chassan cair;
As Hiarn, fow aarloo dty harvaant,
Dy chur dhyt coontey geyre.

Arm me with watchful care
as in Thy sight to live,
and now Thy servant, Lord, prepare
a strict account to give!

Dy voddym cosney grayse:
Shickyr, my nee’m my Hiarn hreigeil,
