14th century radio carbon dating

Scope & Content: There are three main elements: the texts and lists leading to the 1999 publication (Carbon 1), the texts and lists collected together in preparation for a second BAR publication (Carbon 2) and the collection of laboratory certificates.
Administration / Biographical History: The archive contains original dating certificates, recalibration files and draft lists of radio-carbon dates from the Isle of Man. There are two distinct elements: papers relating to the publication of the 1999 list of all known dates up to that point (CARBON 1; Chiverrell et al) and subsequent attempts to revise that list for a future BAR publication (CARBON 2).
The 1999 publication was completed. The subsequent BAR never appeared, though significant numbers of new dates were collected.
