Administration / Biographical History: The Centre for Manx Studies (University of Liverpool) in collaboration with The Institute of Name-Studies (University of Nottingham) organised and hosted a two-day conference entailed ‘Language contact in the place-names of Britain and Ireland’. The conference took place in the Seminar Room at the Manx Museum on Friday 17th September and on Saturday 18th September 2004, in the Lecture Theatre, Manx Museum. The event was also supported by the Manx Heritage Foundation (Culture Vannin) and Manx National Heritage for the lecture facilities.
