Scope & Content: Holt recalls as a child witnessing the Laxey wheel being turned to celebrate VE Day: 'The people gathered below started Cheering, I can still hear those cheers today, the day after was my sixth birthday, what a present!!'. Holt climbed the wheel with his parents in the presence of the man who maintained it and describes seeing the wheel begin to turn with a shudder.
