Scope & Content: The author analyses Lezyare census information from 1901 and 1911 including those parts of Ramsey town lying in Lezayre civil parish, tabulating the numbers of those recorded as able to speak Manx by sex and by decade age spans. He focuses on the households that contained one or more Manx speaker particularly over two generations, singling out certain households and individuals born off island but able to speak Manx for especial commentary.
