I would put the date of this as 1898. This is the year the Castle Mona shops on the left were built, to complement the 4 existing Palace shops on the right side of the Palace entrance. The building work does not appear to be fully completed as the railings above that run around the whole front veranda have not been fitted yet. (still there today with the wording Castle Mona Hotel) - Stuart Green Report this
