Scope & Content: This photograph shows the original Ramsey Water Works Company reservoirs. These were superseded in the 1880s by the construction (completed 1884) of a large new reservoir just upstream, on the dam of which Southward was possibly standing when he took this photograph. The nearer tank was roofed over and converted into a treated water store in the 1950s.
