Scope & Content: Anne Craine (Patron of the Isle of Man Family History Society) recalls Ernie's upbringing in Laxey, his education, marriage to Gillian Cain, early family life, career and role as union rep on the Government Officers' Association. She explains his role dealing with Manx Millennium correspondence together with Nigel Crowe and Noreen Cottier and his part in the founding of the Isle of Man Family History Society. She also recalls Ernie's contact with Charles Kerruish, Speaker of the House of Keys, lobbying to have written petitions presented at Tynwald Hill. Ernie's involvement with the Manx Workshop for the Disabled, World Manx Association, North American Manx Association, Laxey and Lonan Heritage Trust, Peel Rugby Club, Isle of Man Rugby Federation and Manx Rating and Valuation Tribunal are all mentioned.
