Proclamation by Lt Governor Cornelius Smelt prohibiting hunting and shooting within the Lord's Warren

Scope & Content: Cites an ordinance of the Governor, Council and Deemsters made in 1585 which set out the extent of the Lord's Warren and authorised six men living within that area (circuit) to present for justice all offenders disobeying the ordinance. The proclamation pubicises the fact that the Coroner of Rushen Sheading is ordered to summon six honest and substantial men dwelling within the circuit to appear at a court in Castle Rushen to be sworn a jury to make presentments of all offenders against the said ordinance.
The boundaries of the warren are given as from Castle Rushen to Kentraugh burn, Rushensh, following the burn to Fell Dike to Santon burn and then east to the Castle again.
