Scope & Content: Track 1: Lord Randolph Quirk talks to Geraldine Jamieson. He talks about his school days at Cronk Y Voddey; teachers Eunice Moore and Billy Shimmin and his children Irene, John, Mona and Vernon; teachers Peter Hislop and Peggy Johnson; Douglas High School for Boys and Mona Dawson; teachers 'Lanky' Shimmin, Bill Sykes, Mr Beattie, Bill Stewart, Norman Crampton, George Shaw, Harry Carr; his time as an undergraduate and as Vice-Chancellor at University College London; his role in the House of Lords and addressing education and literacy issues; English language vocabulary, usage and dialects; 'Ulysses' by James Joyce and literacy; the proposed 'University for Industry'.

Geraldine Jamieson then interviews Jeremy Kime, producer of 'Songs of Praise' BBC television programme filmed at Peel Castle. He talks about Kevin Woodford and Norman Wisdom; how the programme is researched and made; the death of Diana Princess of Wales impacting broadcast date. Michaela Stephenson reads the news. Geraldine gives the weather forecast and reads the Chemist Sunday Duty Rota. She talks about the Isle of Man Literature Festival, mentioning Roberta Lamming. Roger Watterson's programme 'Personal Choice' begins.

Track 2: 'Mannin Line' phone-in programme begins with guests Bernard Moffat, Bob Riding and Harold Peece [?]. Callers include Colin, Mark, Linda, Arthur, David McWilliams, Anita and Ryan. Subjects discussed include work permits, workforce re-training, graduate employment, benefits, wages, employment for disabled people and equal pay for women; there is also part of a discussion which appears to be from another edition of 'Mannin Line' about road traffic accidents on Manx roads.

The news, weather Flightwatch and Duty Chemist Rota follow.
