Scope & Content: The second of three documentaries broadcast on Manx Radio by Randi Lunde, Norwegian student. This programme, presented by Bob Harrison, focusses on the 1944 visit of exiled Norwegian Crown Prince Olaf to the Isle of Man. It talks about May 1940 German invasion of Norway and evacuation of Norwegian Government and Royal Family to London; Crown Prince Olaf’s war service. Roger Sims (librarian archivist, Manx National Heritage) talks about the Museum’s photographic record of Crown Prince Olaf’s 6-8 September 1944 visit to the Isle of Man and his later1979 visit. Eva Kane, who lived in the Howstrake Hotel, Onchan during the Second World War, talks about luncheon visit to the hotel by Crown Prince Olaf and Isle of Man Lieutenant Governor Earl Granville.
