Scope & Content: The last of three documentaries broadcast on Manx Radio by Randi Lunde, Norwegian student. This programme begins with snippets from a radio docudrama written by Randi Lunde (Norwegian student) about the 1929, 1930 and 1933 visits to the Isle of Man by Norwegian, Oslo University Professor Carl Marstrander (1883-1965), specialist in Celtic languages. It includes extracts from Marstrander’s diary read by Dr Brian Stowell. Her biography is interspersed with Marstrander diary extracts read by Brian Stowell.

Randi talks about Marstrander’s visit in 1933 to do his phonographic wax cylinder recordings of the Manx language in the Isle of Man, again accompanied by extracts read from his diary. Extract of Manx speaker Quane and an unknown Manx speaker as recorded by Martstrander in 1933.
