Administration / Biographical History: Published from the office of the Manx Sun by one Harriet Curphey, the Mona Daily News (1876) was the first of its kind on the Isle of Man. Relying on the speed of telegram communications, it reported on daily news, the London and Liverpool markets and local Manx affairs. It was priced at one halfpenny (approximately 25p in 2022) and was published between the months of July and September. With an emphasis on being compact, most editions of the Mona Daily News were around four pages long, with three of those comprising advertisements.
