Scope & Content: A manuscript draft of a letter sent by the Duke of Atholl to his London-based solicitor, informing him that he originally mislaid Ross' letter and the two petitions from Mr Baillie for his two clients [see MS 09707/2/189], but they have now been signed and returned; he has also signed and returns the appeal between Calcot[e] and Stevenson; the Duke concludes the letter by stating he has not received any news from him regarding [John] Humphreys [Humfrey/Humphrey] and the outstanding £30 rent for the Calf of Man, and instructs Ross to protest by public notary if it is not paid.
