Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from the Deemsters and Deputy Governors, Daniel Mylrea [the Elder] and John Taubman, informing the Duke of Atholl that the audit of the Isle of Man's accounts have been done and are ready to be sent to him; they then report on the arrival of the ship, 'Shannon' of Whitehaven, carrying brandy from Burdeux [Bordeaux], with the news that one of her crew, David Prichard [Pritchard], stands accused of murdering a fellow crewmate, James McGree, having pushed him into the Bordeaux River, whereupon he drowned; Prichard was taken into custody and evidence from the crew taken, but it was agreed that the 'Shannon' would take Prichard on to Whitehaven to face punishment.
