Scope & Content: A manuscript copy of a memorial, original dated 8 January 1771, presented by the House of Keys to Governor Wood, declaring there has been no response from the King to the petition sent by the Keys two years ago seeking relief; the memorial goes on to state that the Manx people are in great distress and many are going, leaving their houses and industry to decay, and as such the Keys ask that the Isle of Man be put on the same footing as Guernsey and Jersey.
