Scope & Content: Correspondence and documentation relating to communications between the Duke of Atholl, in his capacity as a manorial lord on the Isle of Man, with his various agents on the island, along with correspondence sent and received by His Grace's secretary, Robert Charles Carrington, and the Edinburgh-based agent, George Farquhar, concerning manorial matters on the isle; there are also letters from William Pettman, Michael Knott and other individuals relating to the surveying and valuation of the Duke's demesne property, ecclesiastical patronage, mineral and other rights on the island, as part of arbitration activities, prior to their sale to the British Crown between 1825 and 1828.
