Scope & Content: A manuscript copy of a memorial submitted by the House of Keys to Governor Wood, asking him to represent the calamitous situation of the Manx people before the King and beg that they be put on the same footing as those of Guernsey and Jersey, in regards to access to trade, both foreign and domestic; the memorial describes the impact of the 'Mischief Act' on the Isle of Man, following the Revestment, including: the emigration of its populace, due to the want of jobs; the decay of buildings, and the lack of circulating coinage; the original dated 8 January 1771.
