Scope & Content: A bound manuscript document containing a copy of a petition or memorial from the House of Keys, original dated 14 August 1779, asking Lieutenant Governor Dawson to issue precepts for the Keys to assemble, in order that they may present the case that the public has a legal claim to the original title deeds on the Isle of Man; the Keys also ask that in the meantime an injunction be issued against the removal of any title deeds from Castle Rushen; also present is a response from Dawson, original dated 17 August, who grants the Keys' requests.
