It reads, 'In the event of a telegram being received by day or night to the effect that Germany has accepted the armistice conditions of the Allies the news will be announced to the Public by the firing at Douglas Harbour of six rockets in quick succession'.
The instructions in place were to mark the effective end of the Great War (First World War).
