Scope & Content: The original notes were in the handwriting of J D Clucas marked 'April 1910 C.B.N.'

The notes concern James White Smith and his siblings including Mrs James White and where family was located including India and Bolivia, Isle of Man.

'Mrs James White Smith is said to have poisoned her husband and then married Dr. Green. There was a postmortem on Smith - Dr. Walter Clucas and Dr. Tom Teare were supposed to have been well treated by Mrs. Smith with whiskey and there was a great scandal - rumour was that she had poisoned Smith.

Other people mentioned in the text include Patrick Smith. Miss Quay, Julia Salisbury, Marian Teare and Mrs Tulloch.
