Scope & Content: This photograph is from a collection of shipping and wreck photographs amassed by Captain Thomas Henry Corteen (Tom Corteen) between the 1930s and 1970s and is a copy of an earlier image.
Robert Knox, Engineer and Boiler-maker of Lake Road, Douglas was the owner of three steam trawlers: 'Rose Ann', 'Tudor Rose' and 'Lady Loch'. He also owned the first Douglas Head Steam ferries - 'Jumbo', Jingo' and 'Sambo'. Harry Corteen (Tom Corteen's father) was a foreman in the company.
The image shows the boat moored alongside The British Hotel and old St Matthew's Church.
