The Nobby 'Gladys'

Scope & Content: PL 61 Gladys is reported in the Peel City Guardian 18 July 1931 as engaged in herring fishing and landed 7 crans. On 12 July 1930 she was reported as one of only two boats which put to sea due to bad weather. A very good account appears in the PCG 30 June 1906; her master and part owner Thomas Cashin describes in a report fishing for herring from Douglas, when nets were caught in an underwater obstruction.
