First World War internee Andy Kempter in front of an internment hut, Knockaloe Camp, Isle of Man

Scope & Content: The identification of Andy Kempter is based upon the glass plate which is marked: 19702 Kempter and comparison with the hospitalisation and repatriation lists on the ICRC website. Kempter was admitted to hospital with diarrhoea in January 1919, aged 26. His Prisoner Information Bureau Number was 43800A. His next of kin was Ludwig Kempter, Bregenz/Vorarlberg. He was first interned aged 21 at Alexandra Palace.
