Harold Daniell's first appearance on the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) course was in the 1930 Manx Grand Prix (MGP) when he recorded the fastest practice lap – a feat he repeated in 1931 and 1932. He won four Senior TT races, all on Nortons.

In the 1938 Senior race Harold Daniell completed a lap at 91.00mph on his Norton, a record which would stand for 12 years, to be broken by Geoff Duke in 1950.
