Scope & Content: Douglas Lifeboat Day with the launch of the lifeboat from Douglas lifeboat station to sail around Douglas bay. The first lifeboat station in Douglas was established in 1802 and closed in 1895. The lifeboat station in the film was founded in 1874 and is still there today.
Douglas High School for Boys sports day, 17 July 1947. The boys jump through tyres, crawl under netting and compete in running races. Built in 1921, the school changed its name to St Ninian's High School in 1985.
