Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from Governor Lindesay, stating that he has been informed by Mr. Griffith that the 'Whitehall Evening Post' is the best source of intelligence, and if His Grace sends newspapers, he should provide copies of this publication to Griffith, who will direct them on to the Isle of Man; Lindesay then reports on the activities taking place at Glenchass mine, with the extraction of ore not going well; in a postscript, the Duke is informed that the rent for the Calf of Man has been paid by Henrie [Henry] Lindesay, who manages the island for Mr Humphreys [Humfrey/Humphrey].
