Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from John Quayle [the Elder], advising the Duke of Atholl that the accounts for the Steward of the Households, Casualtys and Disbursements are separate and not 'blended' with the general accounts of the revenue, as it is a private account between the Steward and the Duke, and Quayle goes into detail on their management; he then reports that an Irish gentleman, Mr. McLormin, with his wife and servants, has arrived on the island and intends to stay a while; Quayle concludes the letter by informing the Duke that there is £608 1s. 9 1/4d. in the treasury.
