Cast Iron Plaque 1st Manx Service Company grave marker

Place made: South Quay (Douglas)

Description: Cast Iron plaque, circular with three leg centrepiece inscribed. '1st MANX SERVICE COY 1914-1918.' These plaques were placed on the graves of all the former members of the company, who served with it in the First World War, after they passed away. Some may still be seen in Manx cemeteries and church yards, but others were taken by souvenir hunters.
