Daniel Cottier

Description: A bronze sculpture of the head of Daniel Cottier, stained glass artist (1838–1891) by Olin Levi Warner. Daniel Cottier is considered to be an important influence on Louis Comfort Tiffany and also is credited with introducing the Aesthetic movement to America and Australia. Cottier's family was from Lezayre, Isle of Man (his grandfather was buried at Lezayre on July 12th, 1803). In Lezayre church there is a stained glass window, erected by Cottier in 1884 to the memory of his grandfather and father.
Olin Levi Warner (1844-1896) was an American sculptor and artist. His career was launched in New York in 1872, when he met Daniel Cottier, an art dealer who provided Warner with friendship and studio space.
