Description: Brass candlestick at one time used by the Cubbon family of Colby, (William Cubbon, Journalist, librarian and director of the Manx Museum (1865-1955)). Round candlestick set in a square brass tray the side of the candlestick is slotted and bymoving a knob the candle can be moved up inside the tube to keep pace with the flame and rate of melt. A small handle is riveted to the tray, at the tip of which a hole has been drilled into which a small conical snuffer sits.
