Description: Sir Henry Dryden, known as ‘the Antiquary,’ was an archaeologist who travelled throughout Britain and Europe in the nineteenth century. During his travels Dryden recorded buildings, historic sites and monuments, producing thousands of architectural and archaeological drawings. He visited the Isle of Man in 1853 and sketched several landmarks.
